Vision Statement for APEX
Apex is the gifted and talented program offered by Bartlett City Schools to students who have been identified as Intellectually Gifted by the state of Tennessee. These students are gifted learners who demonstrate the capacity for high performance beyond age or grade level expectations and therefore require specialized learning experiences beyond those normally provided in the general education program. The APEX program focuses on the following:

The APEX program focuses on the following:
- Developing student’s internal motivation for learning through activities that develop creativity, cognition, and thinking skills;
- Seeking to develop the whole student, enabling him/her to reach maximum potential academically and socially;
- Instilling an intrinsic love of the pursuit of knowledge
- Providing an atmosphere in which the intellectually gifted student can interact with her/her peers through discussion and exploration of ideas and concepts; and
- Developing investigating and researching skills, thus preparing the intellectually gifted students to excel and achieve academic success in elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond.
